Cow-tipping got so much easier.
Angus cattle in British Columbia’s Okanagan region are being fed red wine with their grain, and chefs say it makes the beef taste unique.
The idea is the brainchild of Janice Ravndahl of Kelowna’s Sezmu Meats. Ravndahl said the beef produced in the wine and cattle areas of the region has an enhanced flavour, the marbling is finer and the fat tastes like candy.
“You don’t get any better than steak and a wine,” she said.
“We just start a bit earlier.”
When did Canada become so awesome?

I hope I’m never in a plane crash in the Andes, I’d be delicious…
Pretty sure the Margaret River region in WA have been doing this practice for years.

The grain fed “Alberta” beef is delicious. I feel like a trader being a Texan and making this statement, but it’s true. When I travelled up there my infatuation began with a steak in Calgary. NOMNOMNOM!!!
I’d love to try this BC Wine steak, but I’ve been trying to get Alberta beef at the lcoal meat market for months, to no avail.
