Brisbane Zombie Walk Smashes World Record

The bloodied and the “living dead” stopped traffic in Brisbane on Sunday as thousands of zombies walked into the record books. More than eight thousand of them lurched through the city along a two-kilometre CBD route closed to traffic in the afternoon.
The annual zombie walk, which raises money for the Brain Foundation, began in Brisbane in 2004 with just 300 participants.

Yeah – the zombies were just like normal Brisbanites. Just more Melburnian.

Nice work DT. Do I detect a hint of mulberry in the zombie makeup? Only because my 3 year old looks like that after a session gorging herself on mulberries from our tree.

They weren’t wearing nearly enough black to be mistaken for Melbournians.

C’mon! Don’t you read Andrew Bolt? In Melbourne, even the blacks are white! (Apologies to Michael Palin, in whose Yorkshire accent that line sounds so much better)

Unfortunately it’s just paint. Man I love mulberries… We had two huge mulberry trees growing up.

My favourite zombie was the Amy Winehouse zombie.

An excellent source of makeup techniques and such is Lars Carlsons site makeup-fx.com. Check it out for things like the recipe for gelatin skin, which when mixed with the proper ingredients in the proper proportions foams up like foam latex makeup. http://makeup-fx.com/ check out the tutorials. and check his videos. He’s a top bloke who will answer email questions.
