US police have seized a weapons arsenal after arresting a man who threatened his employer and raised fears he was inspired by the recent mass shooting in Colorado.
Police in Prince George’s county in Maryland, near Washington DC, told a news conference that the man was facing the sack. They said the man told his employer on several occasions: “I am The Joker, I’m going to load my guns and blow everybody up.”
The suspect, who was wearing a T-shirt that read “Guns don’t kill people, I do,” was arrested without incident.
He has been taken in for medical treatment and has not been charged. Police later seized an arsenal of weapons and several thousand rounds of ammunition from the man’s home.
