Turn off your Ad Blocking for ZGeek

Turn off your Ad Blocking for ZGeek

I have had to add ads to the site. Simply to help pay for the idiotic legal harassment ZGeek is getting.

Currently we are fighting defamation based on posts that were posted 10 years ago. Plus an appeal of an appeal of an appeal from when the plaintiff just up and left the court resulting in a dismissal. We also had a hearing last week and they didn’t bother to turn up too. The Australian legal system, the ultimate trolling tool.

So if you support our fight but can’t help out. Just turn off your ad blocker for us. That little bit will help.

ZGeek launches a new front page

ZGeek launches a new front page

A website popular with weirdos and warriors has launched a new front page. ZGeek, which is no stranger to controversy launched its new look today with a new front page focusing on member created content. The webmaster, Tony B aka “Pirate” aka “That fuckwit” aka “That’s the man there your honor” told reporters “I was fucken bored with the current site, so I chucked up a new skin and made it mine by configuring it and then grinding my crotch against the screen until I reached a happy outcome.”

Readers of ZGeek, the last two left. Promptly flipped their shit and left. Never to be heard of again. “That’s ok. I only do this to make me feel important” said Pirate while softly weeping into his milkshake.

The new front page features two big fucken lines at the top of the page exclusively reserved to “pimp” content made ZGeek and by its members. “The top line slider is content ZGeek made for ZGeek. The next slider down features content made by ZGeek members about their projects, rants and really anything they want to submit that relates to something they produced. The news that we aggregate is now down further on the page or you can go back to the old style by bookmarking the ZGeek News page. Now I just hope people get behind this new direction and post their shit.” wept Pirate as he slowly fell from his chair whilst grabbing the table cloth causing all the crockery and food to fall to the floor with him “Oh a sandwich” he remarked.

I’m redeveloping ZGeek

I’m redeveloping ZGeek

On the weekend I announced that I would be dumping the news part of ZGeek and concentrating on OC. I have revised this so we will keep posting news, but it will no longer be front page stuff.

Instead I will be rebuilding the site over the next few weeks to promote the OC we make while news will be a feed to the front page and all stories will be second level stuff. So please bare with me as I break the site!

Sorry about the downtime, it was caused by Jennifer Laurence’s vagina

Sorry about the downtime, it was caused by Jennifer Laurence’s vagina

Sorry about the downtime. We got hit by a DCMA from some lawyers-thugs because we featured a story about “The Fappening“. Apparently having a fully clothed picture of Jennifer Laurence on the site is bad thing.

So the picture has been replaced and the hollywood stooges should now be happy. We did not link or posts any of the rude pictures you dick heads. Now, I am going to go download the pictures again and SPEND THE ENTIRE WEEKEND WANKING TO THEM.

That will learn them…

It’s official, ZGeek is NSFW

It’s official, ZGeek is NSFW

After much consideration and research. We have agreed to go back to ZGeek’s humble beginnings of being a NSFW website. So post what you like, just nothing illegal.

We shall try to keep the front page relatively safe where we can. But please be warned. There maybe boobies and weird shit popping up from now.

Bringing the NSFW back to ZGeek

Bringing the NSFW back to ZGeek

Well my plan to destroy the site is a complete success. ZGeek is almost back the way I like it, small, stable… but… no boobies.

And this makes me sad.

As I have grown up over the years, my time for ZGeek has dwindled down to a point I actually don’t have time to update the site during work hours. So the whole SFW deal doesn’t really affect me any more. And to be honest, I don’t really care if it does affect you*.

But I should ask. What do you think about bring NSFW back to the front page of ZGeek? I’m not talking about close up shots of genitals and dead babies. But more like bringing “teh boobies”  back.

I’m cool with it. Are you? Leave your opinion in the comments.

Well, it’s not rep but it’s something

Well, it’s not rep but it’s something

I’ve spent sometime over the weekend putting some silliness back in the site. You can now earn achievements and random boobies on ZGeek by doing stuff on the site. This will also earn you points to increase your rank and unlock content. I don’t have any content yet to lock but I will soon. In the meantime you can use it to compare e-wangs.

To earn points, simply post news to the front page, post in the forums, reply to stuff, rate others posts. Getting viewers on your posts will now also earn you points. There are a bunch of other achievements, but I am going to leave them as a surprise for you to find.

Also there will be physical (and crappy) prizes for those who get certain achievements in the future.

Alms! Alms! Donate! It’s cool and FUN!!

Alms! Alms! Donate! It’s cool and FUN!!

Our long and boring legal battle continues. I’d like to post a big ass update on what’s going on. But I can’t, because things are going well and I don’t want to complicate things.

What I can say is that mediation has been ordered for the defamation action against us. But, they have only given me 10 days to pay. So if anyone out there can donate, please do. It would be much appreciated.

If you’re new, you can read about the entire saga (so far) here.

Everything should be fixed

Everything should be fixed

I am happy to tentatively say that everything on the site should now be fixed.

  1. Registrations and password resets – fixed. We now have a stable mail server so reset emails will be sent!
  2. Logins – Fixed. – You may need to reset your pw if you have not logged on to the site for a while.
  3. Hosting – We are now on using a service specifically build and made to host WordPress sites. So far I am well impressed. Not a single outage!
  4. Webmaster – Feeling fine and grand now thanks to the love of the zgeekers.

So if you have any problems. Shove them up your arse.

Oh I am sorry, I work fixing things and all my emails end with “if you have anymore issues, please let me know” or close to that. So it just nice to tell someone to stick it up their arse. Because I am a cunt like that.

If you do have any problems, email thepirate at zgeek dot com. I will fix it without being rude. Also if you have any life problems you want me to know about or advise on, or spare nude shots. Sent them.

Actually just email me. I am so lonely.

A little site news…

A little site news…

I’m moving ZGeek to a new host so there maybe some issues over the next week as I get it set up. Please bear with me, I am working to fix all the issues and this should do a lot for the stability. Once this is done, we will have a fighting force of extraordinary magnitude.

You have my gratitude. I hope the phwoar makes up for it.

(Server move done! Let me know if you find any problems)

I still can’t sign up or post.

I still can’t sign up or post.

I still can’t sign up or log in or anything to this site.

So as an offering of good will to the Z gods. Here’s a picture I made of Emily Ratajkowski as a ginger.

Pirate adds: Sorry chap. If anyone else is having issues, please let me know. Email thepirate at zgeek.com with details of the issue.

In other news I am in the process of moving the site to a different host who specialises in WordPress hosting. So hoping that the performance issues go away soon! And thanks for the pic. Great work, 10/10 would fap again.

Facebook dilemma

Facebook dilemma

As you can see, I have been slowing rebuilding the site and I have hit a dilemma that I would like to throw out to the ZGeeker’s as it concerns you. Especially if you use facebook.

I like to feed the stories from ZGeek to our facebook group. I have recently installed the facebook connection to enhance this (check it out here). My issues is that I want to import the comments from Facebook back to ZGeek. But this uses people real names. So I am hesitant about this, especially with the lunatic fringe out there.

So what do you think? I really like the idea of merging the comments, but I am worried about exposing peoples identities. I would love your feedback.

So thanks heaps and I wish you all the best for the new year.

I’m going post boobies today to celebrate!!

40+ members of ZGeek now involved in our defamation suit

40+ members of ZGeek now involved in our defamation suit

I do apologise for the late update but I’m been a bit busy with work and personal matters. A few weeks ago was a huge week in our legal battle.

Unfortunately the courts have compelled disclosure of certain details of some ZGeek members to the person who has been keeping us in Court for the last three years. So I have had to hand over the contact details for over forty ZGeek members who now could be listed as possible defendants in the defamation action. Some of these people did not even post in the threads, or simply commented on threads in which the plaintiff was not identified.

The Court compelled the disclosure of these details to the plaintiff despite our objections that this person is linked to the Jonathan Nolan and Greg Smith who have been the subject of allegations of fraud in the media and that these details may be used improperly. Smith and Nolan attempted to sue us for $42.5 million dollars after they alleged they had lost a movie deal after ZGeek members bagged the book on which they said they were basing their movie.  The book set out a ridiculous conspiracy theory that nuclear bombs where used in the 9/11 attacks.

Anyhow the battle continues and the need for funds is now greater than ever before.
