CNN Confirms the passing of Gotye, after suffering cardiac arrest while riding a pink unicorn
US news station CNN has suffered its second major reporting error in a week after its website falsely reported that Australian pop star Gotye had died.
CNN’s iReport incorrectly claimed the singer had taken his own life after rumours of his death spread on Twitter overnight.
“At 4:32 AM EST, it was reported that Gotye had shot himself in the head with a 9mm handgun,” CNN claimed.
“He was pronounced dead at 4.45AM, and the investigation concluded that the cause of death was suicide.”
