Hey guys,
Not sure if this has been done before....just wondering how the other people on this site live....are you starving students in an aparment full of cardboard furniture? Are you a rich momma's boy with a swanky penthouse? Do you still live with your parents in a dank windowless room in the basement that you never leave?
This is my apartment (http://www.boardom.ca/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=strathcona&page=1)
It's the top floor in the really old brick house. It's in a part of ottawa called the Glebe and is about 2 blocks away from the rideau canal.
Please note: My girlfriend decorated (hence the flowered duvet cover)....she subscribes to Martha Stweart Living:P

Even if I was making good money here I wouldn't be able to afford a house....Real Estate in ottawa is rediculously overpriced.

i live with my parents, but i'm 16, so it's okay..
my room is dark, all stupid panelling and dark oak furniture, with the ceiling fan for light..
umm.. more storage and cabinetry than anyone could ever need.. shoe and computer boxes lying around, stereo wires hanging off of the trim in the corners with duct tape (it's hard to put nails into panelling)
shiny brass doorknobs..
i also have no money (4.13$us, to be exact)
i'm not starving, either
i live on a farm in the us, in the boonies ( <--- look over there..)
fayetteville, arkansas, usa, to be exact
my window looks out to the driveway and sheds, and all that concrete and metal, while all of the other windows look out on our pretty lawn, with the grass that i work so hard to keep green..

i live with my parents, but i pay rent. my room has everything but a refrigerator. i am far from starving. i have a lot of liquor bottles and shot glasses all over the place.
i believe that it is because of my wife's taste in furniture that we can't afford anything else.
we rent a 3 bedroom house in east hills. it's way too big for us, but all our junk wouldn't fit in anything smaller.
Im 28 and live in my own house in Melbourne which I had built almost 2 years ago.
Here is an old photo from about a year ago - I now have gardens and the telstar has been replaced by a Mazda 323 Astina. (the falcon is a mates old car)

I live in a rented house in Sydney's north shore with 3 other zgeekers. Every day is a new adventure in 'oh my god what the fuck is that?'
I don't know if I'll ever own a house, probably won't be in Sydney if I do (can't afford it here).

I bought my first house in December with my fiancee. It's in Birmingham, England and, although I'm not starving, I could do with some breakfast and £15,000.
I rent a house in The Junction. Every wall in the house has different wallpaper - my room features some very lime green fern leaves...I feel like I've woken up in the 70s every morning.
For some reason, possibly my amazing powers of persuasion, I have got the largest room in the house and an office but still pay the same rent as my two other housemates..gotta love that :D
Up until recently I had three jobs so I wouldn't particularly classify myself as starving.

I live in a one bedroom rented apartment in Petersham, inner western sydney. I have a view of the city and the harbour bridge. Oh yeah, i share the place with a friend, she has the loungeroom as her bedroom, i have the bedroom as my bedroom. We pay fuck all rent as a result. I work nights so we barely see each other.
I earn comfortable money, so am not starving. Work provides food also. Out of the last 5 years, i've lived 3 overseas and plan to do some more o/s again next year, so i don't plan on settling down just yet. Ideally I'd prefer to live in the UK or Europe. Any european chicks up for an australian passport? Marry me

Geek Life #21395 - edeity
I dont live anywhere. Always on move. Just sold last geographical attachment (house). Have owned 3 properties. Never lived anywhere more than 6 months since 1999. Since then ('99) have lived in:
Strathfield (2 locations), South Strathfield (2 locations), Neutral Bay, Prahran, North Melbourne (2 locations), St. Kilda, Melbourne CBD, Brisbane, Lismore (2 locations), Marrickville.
I have a string of overlapping yet unsatisfying personal relationships (multitasking isnt as good as you'd think, well at least for me it hasnt been), and constantly dream of settling down with a nice white picket fence, a clever, charming wife who adores me, a dog and 2.3 children. I also know I will never have this.
My income varies from pretty decent to bugger all. I've never been short for a dollar except when i first arrived in Sydney (from the country) in '97 with $130, nowhere to live, didnt know anyone, self absorbed divorcing parents, and all while on a disability pension.
The most important thing I purchase in life is always food. I will sacrifice anything for quality dining. Girlfriends are often selected on their culinary skills or ability to appreciate fine dining. I will even not eat to save up to eat well cooked quality food. Have always been like that. Its weird. It is the one thing more important to me than brunettes.

At the moment I live in what used to be dad's house(Now we rent it off mum & her solicitors, conveyencers, etc).
over 1997-1998 I lived in a squalid little rental house with 2 other guys, The architechture was art deco with lots of rendered concrete inside & out, there was rising damp & the walls were crumbling, the carpet was all torn as a living room table we had a large(about 1 metre diametre) cable reel painted silver, we had a smaller cable reel as a tv stand.
The centre room was a music room where a large mixing desk sat upon 4 milk crates & a bread crate.
The house is now a vetinary clinic.

I have currently been activated for 20yrs, reside with carbon-based lifeforms that call me Joel, or 'My Brother', etc. (or other names my spell checker won't recognise) in a former hospital (14 rooms, optical and thermal sensors detect no 'ghosts').
I have my own computer (too slow if you ask me), bed (not that i use it much) and pay board for the permanent use of 1 room in which aforementioned stuff is placed.
As for living, have you humans decided wether or not androids are classified as 'alive' yet?

They just brought the bush hog around and mowed the back 40 (so to speak). The trees out back hide the train tracks.
It has rained MORE than normal for our area this year. The day I took this picture it was 99F outside and muggy as hell. This summer has been spent either in the airconditioning or the pool. The damn pools closed on August 8!

Aww....
I live here:
Fort Pannerden (http://www.fortpannerden.nl)
It was built in 1869, and had been empty ever since WWII, we squatted it in June 2000, so we've been here for over three years now, and it's starting to look a lot more civilized now... Recent pictures coming soon.
Edit: English translation of website coming soon (...ish)

No, we cut open the front door, and entered the building.
Dutch law makes it possible to occupy a building if it's been empty for more than a year, and this one had been in disuse ever since WWII...
Normally when we squat a building the legal owner comes along and tells us to get the fuck out, but in this case they seem to be pretty happy with us...
The fortress belongs to the Forestry Administration, and they don't want it to turn into a tourist trap... So they just let us be.
