Back at the original ZHouse (*wipes tear from eye*), Cassa made the suggestion that we should go to the cricket sometime next season. Since tickets go on sale on Friday, I think that it's about time we got off our butts and got this one organised!

What :: Australia vs. India, Day 1
When :: Friday, January 2nd, 2004, play normally starts at 10am
Where :: Sydney Cricket Ground
Price :: To Be Announced

Who is coming? :: Cassa, Spingo, Thingy

Day 1 at the SCG normally sells out pretty quickly, so to keep us all sitting together, I'm gonna try and get tix on Friday morning.

may i suggest a 1 day match, instead of a test.
tests are quite boring, u sit there for the whole day, and u dont see an outcome! 1 day matches are a lot more interesting!
will cassa be our beer wentch?

You wanna pay me $50/hour then sure :p

I think a 1 dayer would be better also, but depends on what we can get i suppose.

I would be interested in seeing a 1 dayer but not a test.
Cassa - is free beer included in the $50/hour?

Well, I won't have the cash to be able to get tickets this Friday...

Which means that I'll have to get them the friday after. Now, if people really wanna see a one-dayer, someone else will have to buy tickets. The reason for this is that the 3 one-dayers in Sydney completely sold out within 4 days last year. There are 3 ODI's scheduled for Sydney this year (including a final - the other 2 involve AU, where one last year did not), and I would imagine that they will sell out even more quickly this year.

In any case, the AU vs Zimbabwe ODI is on Jan 11 (a Sunday), and the AU vs India ODI is on Jan 22 (a Thursday). Both of these dates could be troublesome for those who have to work. The 2nd ODI final will be on February 8 (a Sunday night)...

I'll also move this to ideas for further discussion, and make a details thread later when we have more of a concensus of what to do.

How much will teh tickets be? I don't mind getting them as long as I have absolute assurance people will be reimbursing me, no rainchecks and no getting it back if you suddenly can't come.

IIRC, Test match tickets are around $40 a day, and ODI's are around $60.. but don't quote me on that - it's been a while since I had to get tix.
