A volunteer firefighter has been fined $4000 for deliberately and repeatedly running over 12 wombats on his way home from bushfire patrol.

I used to live in a small town in country Victoria. We had volunteer firemen to do all the fire extinguishing in the area (and there were lots of them).
Some of them are a bit weird and a few cans short of a six pack. To feel important a couple of them used to light fires just so they could direct traffic and pretend to be heros.

about a mungbean (fireman slang for a rural firefighter) who attended a house fire before the urban boys it was smoke logged and they were to wait for real fire service , meanwhile he sees window of opportunity to become an instant hero by saving owners carpet snake with an internal entry . This he accomplished by smashing a window and running in grabbing carpet snake , well it seems a sudden influx of oxygen and a starving fire loved that . Result -1 hero mungbean for about 3 minutes - 1 very relieved carpet snake and 1 very upset and homeless used to be house owner with lawsuit on his mind . mungbeans can be fun ! but just not at my house .
