Well, can the childish fucks make Australians look any MORE like a pack of whinging pricks?

I feel embarrassed every time I see some yobbo with another ten seconds of screen time make some stupid comment about "I hope they make Amrozi ram pencil sharpeners into the open end of his dick" and the like.

For some reason, a bunch of them thought it would be a good idea to attend the trial and comment to the media every step of the way. When Amrozi was sentenced, they cut straight to clips of some of the families cheering and breaking open bottles of bubbly.

For fuck's sake people, this is NOT any of the following:

party
celebration
movie
game

And to pre-empt any of the more simplistic retorts, NO, if _I_ was one of the victims I would NOT want my family acting like that. Haven't any of them heard of dignity? (The ones that are there, that is, not the ones that stayed at home and perhaps breathed a sigh of relief when they heard of the outcome.)

Surely the Families know that Amrozi doesn't care if he dies, gets tortured and the like. He did what he did because he believes in his cause, so no matter what happens he won't regret what he's done and what comes to him as a result of it. The more attention payed to all these attacks and the families effected by them, the more liable to attack we become.

Obviously Amrozi does care, either that or he is just wanting to inflict more pain on the families. Why else would he appeal?

i think the appeal is just a formality, it would be ridiculous not to appeal a death sentence.

i agree that people should show some more respect, but also that the media has a big part to play targetting the lowest common denominators.
