I am so fucking sick of hearing about this chic.
I really want to know how a new single from this girl is so newsworthy that it gets mentioned TWICE in a 2 minute news break on channel 10.
And they said she released a new song. WRONG! It's a new SINGLE, which means its a song that was already on her albumn released several months ago and it now has a video clip for it and will be played 50 million times a day by every fucking radio station.
*phew*
Seriously, I know she's dealing with cancer (which can be cured, like, it's supposedly not life threatening like most of the media would like us to believe), but honestly, i dont find this all newsworthy.
What about the millions of people in the world who suffer from much worse conditions than Delta is, does anyone care about them? obviously not because they aren't young, pretty and famous.
FUCK THAT!
end of venting.

You forgot to mention that she's on the front of every fucking magazine with the headlines brave, courageous, special blah blah blah. Yeah she might be brave etc but so are the 1,000s of others who face cancer every fucking day.

I feel sorry for her as ive met her in real life and she is very nice and thoughtful. I hope she doesnt die from what she has.
However, I hope her record company and publicist do, for using her illness to attract sales. Pathetic fucks.

Meanwhile back on topic.
I have nothing but sympathy for Delta both for the illness and the media hype around it. I'm sure if it were up to her she'd withdraw herself from the media completely but unfortunately since she's young and pretty and Australian, the media buying public can't get enough of it
Having said that, it really shits me off whenever someone famous gets cancer, they're always labelled by the media as 'bravely battling the illness'. Fuck off, since when did having an illness automatically make someone noble.

Another thing I hate about that is that her cancer is one of the more common & one of few cancers that can be treated by Drugs alone so it's not like she's going through any great ordeal compared to most cancer sufferers.

obviously, as they are not celebrities....
it fucking sux how the media and publicists turn an illness in a celebrity into a "hero" where as everyone else who is suffering (usually more so than these celebrities) is ignored.

I heard that she would be dead fairly soon.
I am sad about that.
I thought she'd live forever.
Like normal people and stuff.

Yes, I am sick of all the hype as well, but there is however a positive side if you look hard enough. Maybe now there will be a bigger cash injection into the fight to cure cancer all together.

I'm not sure how "positive" I can see a situation where the only reason some disease gets more research funding is because some soapie queen pop singer happens to suffer from it.
I mean, if it wasn't for this one person suffering from it, then apparently its not worth investing as much......

I think you will find the people at Sony were in two camps about Deta’s new single. They must of known people would automatically assume they pushed her to do it and it would be damaging for them, but then again any free publicity is good publicity.
I heard some one claim she “wanted to do it her self”. Saying it cost a lot of money to make a video clip and they would have preferred to put it off until she had the energy levels required.
Make of it what you will….

Celebrities get exposure, it's a big part of being a celeb. Whether they are murdering someone, having an affair, shopping, doing drugs, getting caught speeding, drink driving or whatever, they will always be in the news because the public want to see that, they want to hear about the celebrity life.
Personally I'm all for the celeb being treated like the ordinary average joe, but then you'll get a load of 'em complaining about not getting enough coverage to promote their latest movie/song/venture.
There's not much we can do about it except change the channel/refuse to watch?

Personally I'm all for not caring that some attention-starved whiners are throwing a tantruum.

Her releasing another single I don't have a problem with...good on her if she wants to keep doing her thing like normal, it's a good attitude to have while you're sick.
I was referring more to the constant media coverage of her disease though, women's mags et al. Yes we know she's got cancer, we don't need to keep hearing about her courageous battle.

Yup, that's how you would be, but unfortunately the armies of sad fans want to know about every fucking thing they do. Add that to the fact that the team in charge of their promotion will want them promoted and the channels in charge of "giving us what we want" will want to sell them to us, well, like I say, there's little we can do except stop watching/buying into the shit.
One of the things that fux me off is all the channels of shit on the Tv, you can't escape it, flick, flick, flick, shit, shit, shit. The stuff that you wanna watch, that you're happy paying for is going towards paying for all the other shite that you'r obviously not happy paying for. You buy two or three channels in a package and you get another twenty full of bollox, adverts every ten minutes, even if you get the pay per view footy, you have to watch the adverts at half time.

Just watch her video clips on mute and put on some good music like Gary Numan or Frankie Goes to Hollywood while you watch her.
