What's that all about? Eight fucking weeks? Eight fuckin' weeks before we get to move into our new house. What the fuck are they fuckin' doing? Refuckinbuildin' it? Well actually I'm exaggerating, it's six to eight fuckin' weeks. Bastards! Solicitors?= wankers, stamp duty robbing fuckers, 1% of the house price if it's over 60 grand. Like you're gonna get many houses less than 60 fucking grand these days. Surveying thieving fuck heads. It's been surveyed once, what the fuck is it being surveyed again for? Robbing fucking bastards. "Yup it's the same as it was two months ago. Pay me." Fuck you fuck face, you ripping fucking twat.

"Buying a home is one of the more stressful periods in your life." I wonder why you pisstaking wankers.

Mate....Tell me about it.

I am right where you are about now, I am buying the house I live in and it's still taken over a year to get all the paperwork sorted and find a morgage, and all the rest of the shit that goes along with it!

I have lived here for 8 years and I think I know better than any surveyor what's wrong with the place, but nooooo, we are still being charged a shit-load of money for surveys etc!

A friend of mine is buying at the moment too, but although she's sold her house, she's had 4 chains collapse on her and finally she found a place that she loved, only for the sellers to decide that they didn't want to sell after-all, so she's stuck again!

Un-be-fucking-liev-able!

I'd take up Plext's (http://forums.zgeek.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=209193) offer. Fuck the travelling :)

Chrissy, they've got to be taking you for a ride? A fucking year? These people need kneecapping (*apologies to any victims of kneecapping or friends relatives of kneecappees :))

It's a fucking circus and we're the captive audience, the only thing is, it's not entertaining.

Went to the estate agents to give evidence we could afford the mortgage, had to have a day off work, didn't mind, it was necessary. Somebody got that house before us. Went for another, had to go to the estate agents, they wanted evidence we could afford the mortgage, another day off work. WTF? Just give me the first bit of paper and I'll take it around with me.

Heh heh ... and plext has at least invited us up for a weekend some time - yay. And I think Rupert Murdoch might even have a helipad on the roof here at The Sun plant in Wapping, so that's definitely an option.

Oh, I so do ... I so do ... once we get back from the Continent and we're both working and we have our own place I'm gonna hire a big-assed TV and a DVD player and catch up on ALL the shit (Buffy, Angel, Friends plus 100s of movies) I've been missing out on while travelling this year.

I tried to buy a house a couple of years ago. CHEAP 2 bd, 1bth $38,000!. Central air and heat. The bar was 250ft from the house!:p

But my ex's ass surgery totalling $1600 kept me from getting it. (it's on MY credit report)

*I moved into my trailer the day I paid the deposit.
My trailer will be paid for this November:banana:

No doubt about it, the whole house buying gig is a rare pain in the arse.

You start off thinking "OK so house cost is x, I have y amount of money, that will leave me with sum z to do some renovations"

Then all the fees kick in and you suddenly find yourself at -2z and nothing to sit on.

It seems that no matter how you plan, it works out this way.

But you get there in the end, and it all seems worth it :)

SOC: Sorry mate, the chopper is in the panel shop from when the missus took it out. :D

Although my flat was ~£80k, I avoided paying stamp duty because it is classed as an underpriveliged area!

Must be because Telewest haven't installed cable in my postcode yet.

We aint got Telewest there either. That's a good thing, 'cos with the mortgage I don't think I'll be affording broadband for a bit :)

We are here (big image) (http://www.zgeek.com/gallery/uploads/Image2?full=1)

Well we've more or less got our date for flitting. We're expecting the keys on wednesday and we're off on friday if all goes to plan. The cable guy's coming wednesday to take his modem back :( so I'm gonna be offline for a bit. When I get back on I'll probably only be paddling a 56k and unfortunately, here all the way to Australia is a bit of a journey, so I probably won't be connected much even then.

I'm gonna miss you all for a bit, (well maybe not YOU! :D but I'm definitely gonna miss YOU!)

The landlords being a bit a bit of a wanker, we told 'em we were moving at the beginning of last month (rent day, they always come round) told 'em we'd been told six to eight weeks, ok we were wrong it's been four? but so fucking what? are they gonna go hungry 'cos they're losing some tennants? are they fuck, they've got property all over.

Sorry about the hole in the carpet, we set the grill pan on fire :) keep the bond. :D

Only when it re-appeared in my cornflakes at breakfast the next day.
