OK, heres the problem...

I've just bought a flex-atx motherboard to fit into a tiny 1u rackmount enclosure.

Everything fits bar the audio jacks (the ones that show on the I/O plate) - they're too high!

Heres the question: is it possible to just de-solder them? What is the likely hood of the motherboard still working?

Thanks in advance

if you're any good with a soldering iron (better to use at least two, and have another person to help) you'll be able to remove them fine.

It won't affect anything, except you won't have anywhere to plug in the speakers ;)

Cheers for your reply.

Just to make sure.... are you sure (that made sence... right?!)

Like DumHed said, you should be able to desolder it without any ill effects if you're quick enough with the iron. If the wires stick out of the other side of the board a little bit it would probably be a good idea to attack them with Nail clippers or something similar to make it a little easier to desolder them.
