I have just bought a new 10gig iPod. And being the budget version i don't have the nifty accessories which i really don't care about except for the case. I've had my iPod for about 4 days and it already a little scratched up.

Does anyone know of some generic cases because the apple ones are just way too expensive. I was thinking of cutting up a stubby holder and sewing that together but it might be too fat.
Thanks

This might be what you're after maybe:

Belkin Clear Case (http://www.ht.com.au/Scripts/xworks.exe?PART:L0543#Tof) or maybe this (http://www.ht.com.au/Scripts/xworks.exe?PART:J3590#Tof).

I've got the belt clip one (its standard on the nicer iPods) - I'd sell it to you, but I have no idea where i put it.

I picked up a clear perspex case for mine, to protect it from knock and scratch damage.

Its excellent, though at $50 a bit pricey. Still, cheaper than replacing an iPod because I put it in my bag and it got squished or knocked around.

The sandwich bags could be good, i might fill it with packing peanuts for extra support, the static discharge wouldn't be too bad would it?

I'm not really after a belt clip model. I also just dump it in my bag and pens and stuff just carve it up. I picked up a clear perspex cover for T68i for like $5 that works a charm and i was looking for a similar product with a similar price. But to no avail, most of the cases i've seen are for older model ipods.

I saw those but there still a tad pricey.

I might just have to bite the bullet and get a crazy perspex cover. Considering iPods aint cheap.

I also found ephpod is good, much better than Musicmatch. And i'm currently giving iTunes a bit of a burn but its seeming to be a tad overated by those apple folk.

USB2 and firewire. In the instruction booklet it says for PC's to use the 4 to 6 pin firewire adapter, but i got a pleasant suprise to see my Sound Blaster Audigy has 6 pin firewire which is good because then the iPod can charge off my PC.
