Does anyone know how to stop the timer/clock on timed missions in GTA Vice City....

Bloody helicopters are wayyy hard to control, then you think you get it sorted and BOOM, you crash and they explode!!!!

is this the blow up the building mission?
i dont think u can turn off the timer. just familiarize yourself with the building levels b4 u so the level. know which way to go and shit. i also found it easier to get the top level 1st and then work my way down .i alsp found it faster to go down the side of the buildbing near the road and then turn togo up the stairwells.
if all else fails look at www.gamefaqs.com for a whole lot of walkthrus. if u cheat in the game u lose the opputunity to get 100 % completion.

Yeah that mission is a right pain in the ass, but it really is best to start at the top floor and work your way down. Only way i have managed to do it.

Also, since you are a gta-vc person, can yo pick up the hookers? The Aussie version won't let you and I want a work around.

The hookers don't work on my XP compy, but they work on my friend's ME compy.
I read somehwhere that it relates to the time zone you have set your PC to be in. So you might try that out (ie. set yourself to a US time zone).

The timer won't start until you pick up the first bomb, so you can fly into the building and kill all the guys with your rotors, that might make things a bit easier if you're having problems with your heli blowing up.
Its not that tough, just learn how to fly the heli and you should be cool.
I had to cheat on some of the later levels. They're too damn hard.

what mission couldnt you do with-out cheating?

each mission has an easy way to be completed.

I couldn't do the the one where you have to get the drugs for the voodoo woman and all the cops chase you. Thats the one that sticks in my head. I have on other ones but can't rmemeber.

to stop the clock in GTA3 and Vice City is fucking hard.

basically you have to pick up the first marker, of whatever task you are doing, just as the timmer runs out.

Ie for the checkpoint one with the heli you must get the first checkpoint at the last possible moment, if you do it stops the timer.

Easy? no fucking hard. i have both games, i have played them to death, i seriously doubt there is anything left in these games i havent seen.. I have never used the above method although i have seen a video of it being done after doubting it could actually be done.

It's too hard. Playing the game is easier..
