I was going across the harbour bridge the othe day in a taxi, and something caught my eye and got me thinking.
Two people in the space of a week have been climbing on the harbour bridge in areas they're not allowed to be. To climb on the bridge, they have big metal gates you have to get around, and surrounding these are large spikes, and circling the spikes is not barbed wire, but razor wire.
Back in the good ol' days this would have been a good deterrent. People would see it and decide it's not worth the risk of injuring themselves. If they do, their bad. These days though, if they were to injure themselves on the razor wire, you'd expect them to sue the council. Isn't all that razor wire just a lawsuit waiting to happen.
The walkways on either side of the bridge have chicken-wire fencing stretching up & over, and on top, barbed wire. Same with that. I'm surprised ANYWHERE is allowed to use barbed wire at all these days due to the potential lawsuits from morons who refuse to use logic, then accept the consequences of their stupidity when they get hurt.
