AUSTRALIAN aircraft have reportedly followed US military orders to spy on Iran without first getting approval from Defence Minister Robert Hill.

(I know we do everything the U.S tell us to, but couldn't we at least get orders via our leaders. Just for protocol's sake?)

This post was about the U.S practically taking command of our millitary and it was deemed not important enough to be on the front page?

Farking mods. I bet it was a Bush fanboy.

Anyway, what's this got to do with "The war" it was a reconnaissance mission in Iran for fuck's sake!?!?

This is the dumbest most illogical mod decision I have ever seen on ZGeek.

Well I'd say that "The War" is a good place to put threads that have something to do with the military. Wouldn't you?

I think I'll start a thread about World War I in this forum, as it was known as "The Great War".

Just because this forums isn't called "The War on Terrorism, or: AmeriKKKan Invasion of Iraq" doesn't mean that moderators can't move threads on war-based subjects (like the military in Iran) here.

Awww....have a fucking whinge.

The logical mod decision, given how off-topic this post of yours is, would be to delete it.

At any rate, the News Interactive article is on the conduct of the RAAF during the Iraq invasion, which makes it more than qualify for "The War".

On topic, the Australian forces were under the command of the US, who were leading the invasion. As such, they were obeying orders given by someone in the chain of command that Defense Minister Hill told the Australian military to follow. The whole "following of orders from the chain of command" is what they do in the military.

Is it up to the grunts on the ground (or in the air) to call up the minister every time someone hands them an order? Of course not. They were told to follow the US military command's orders, and they did.

Come now. Iraq, Iran, it's all the same for right-wingers.

Off topic in relation to the front page?

What is the topic of the front page again?

The topic you set in this thread was about the conduct of the RAAF and the US military command in Iraq, and their espionage in Iran.

Given that this forum isn't the front page, your little hissy fit is completely off topic. Feel free to stop, otherwise "logical moderating decisions" will come into effect.

erm, I think he originally posted it to be news for the front page, and it got rejected and moved to here. Thus his complaint.

But more on topic, Insomniac, how much money to you contribute towards the running of this site? Because that's how much say you have in what goes on the front page. This isn't the real world where freedom of speech is protected. This is an individual's website, where that individual gets to chose what does, and doesn't make the front page :)

I'd guessed at what he'd done. And, he'd had his whinge afterwards without adding anything to the discussion.

When I replied with something on-topic, he decided to completely ignore that and continue with his off-topic-to-the-thread diatribe.

I just find it amusing that he finds it strange that the US "practically taking command of our military". They didn't "practically" take command - the Australian government gave it to them when the countries formed the "Coalition of the Willing (to violate national sovereignty without a UN Mandate)".

He completely misses the point. Its not that the US gave RAAF airmen orders without consulting the Defense Minister - that happened plenty of times. It was understood that the US was going to lead, and obviously they'd be giving orders (that Australian and British troops would obey). Its not as if Minister Hill is some master strategist that needs to micromanage every soldier.

The problem is that the Ministry of Defense feels that the US exceeded their authority, given that under Australian law that kind of surveillance would require the Australian military command to seek ministerial approval.

I am not a bush fanboy, I can't stand the fucker (no, that does not make me anti american either ... bush is not america, he is one man, one fuckwit of a man).

This forum was created to stop the influx of news submissions for every minor development or piece of news about the war, so that those were interested could stay abreast without it flooding the front page and removing every other news post. "But it was about iran". Why are Australian forces there in the first place? Iraq, same war this forum was created for.

I did not see it as significant enough a development to be on the front page, nor did I see it as all that relevant/uncanny/whatever.

You do not like it, send the mods in question a PM or email. Funnily enough, one of the rules you agreed to when you signed up was to NOT whinge about things like this in a forum but to do it in a PM as you should, this way it can get resolved much faster and easier.

Hell, it coulda been back on the front page within 30 minutes if you had done what you were meant to instead of sitting in here bitching about it. Because your bitching was in here, I did not see it until now. And now that you've turned this thread into a fight about what happened, it's even worse for the front page without posts being removed which I don't have access to do.

YOU are your own worst enemy in this case, not the mods. Quit ya fucking whinging.
