I'm looking to upgrade to Broadband and am considering service providers. I am considering either of the following:
Netspace Home 512 Supa - 8gb @ $69.95 per month
Internode 512 - 6GB @ $69.95 per month
Swiftel 7:512 - 8GB @ $65 per month
At this stage my preference is Netspace - as I hear that the service is pretty good, and they have heaps of game server as well as a good P2P setup.
So, just wondered if anybody had any personal experience with the above plans. I gotta get broadband pronto - this 50k dialup connection is killing me!

i'm on that exact netspace one and it suits me. i dont do online gaming and my p2p has slowed down a bit.
it is very rare that i have problems with getting or losing connections. netspace staff seem to be reasonably active on the whirlpool forums too, which impresses me.
if you're in vic or tassie, you MAY have more issues though. they seem to have slightly more problems that most (according to the netspace news area).
its certainly one to look at.

I switched from Optus cable to Internode, and was really happy with the results. Good performance, decent pricing, and excellent uptime.
Personally, I opted for the 1500/256 flat-rate plan but the 512/128 flat-rate isn't half bad either. I do a ridiculous amount of downloading (33GB this month and counting), and I don't like the idea of being charged extra at the end of the month.

TPG's plans look nice.

hehe so I checked out whirlpool - its a cool site. I had to laugh at what people were saying about Dodo internet:
Dodo Nogo (http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=137409)
There's so many things wrong with Dodo before you even look at the internet side of it. i.e. the name, the slogan, the commercial with that stupid little fat kid, and the fact that Ms Megabyte recommends it. Boo to Ms Megabyte - how she ever got the job as IT Editor at channel nine beats me.

Do these plans seem reasonable?(looking particularly at the 512/128 Unlimited plan) (http://www.ix.net.au/adsl.html)

All i can say is that i have the 512/128k express offpeak plan from pacific net, its shaped to 128 between 8am and 6pm mon to fri, but apart from that its unlimited.
Cost : $54.95 a month
Installation: free at the moment i think, but $99's anyway...
Currently its monday, on friday i have had the service for 4 weeks.
My download stat is currently: 51.03gb :D
