Print spooler go down the hole.

Hey kids.

Anyone had a Windows 2000 machine where the Print Spooler likes stopping with no information in the event log or any other hints as to why? Basic results are no printers showing.

It's fun, I've had it on 3 machines so far, and now one file / print server which means every time it happens I have 40+ people screaming at me. Takes anywhere from 1-10 attempts at re-starting the service before it stays up for longer than a second.

There's not much to really go by, no crashes, no errors, the service just stops. Searches at technet haven't been much help so far, so I'm hoping someone else out there might be able to point me in the right direction.

It happens to me occasionally, rebooting the PC seems to work if it's a shared printer, if it's throuhg a print server, I reboot the server.
I would check for virus', but I am sure you have a good virus scanner. Have you tried reinstalling windows? It may be a long process, but if any DLLs or anything is fucked then this should fix it.
