Alright, my title might be a little misleading but I've been seeing the 'fave sci-fi' thread going for awhile and it has made me think of the books I've been into.

I started thinking of those books you read during those turbulent years when a bit of sex was enough to keep you into it. However there are also decent books that throw a bit of spice in the action.

The series and author I'm throwing forward fits, in my mind, in the second category. I find him to be a reasonably well researched writer who can create decent characters. Now he's not awesome by any means, hell I picked up almost the entire series for $3 a book in Target a few years back but I enjoy them...

They are the Nicholas Linnear Novels written by Eric Lustbader, sometimes Eric V Lustbader depending how old it is.

You may begin questioning my sanity now :P but come on forward and admit your own literary vices.... unless you actually read Mills and Boon in which case :swear:

I heard on the grapevine that Eric van Lustbader was the pseudonym for Jett Black who was the lead singer for "The Stranglers" at this time.Heard that?

The Ninja.... page 433. Copyright Albion records 1977

I'd heard a couple of different rumours about him but no specific names. The Ninja is one of the few that Target no longer stocked in it's impressive collection

I'll check the reference next time I get a copy. Oh and you obviously weren't given the kind of shit I was when mates saw Lustbader on my bookshelf lol

Fuck em, you have to read all sorts of genres otherwise you'll become stale and pretentious.Books are like life. It takes all sorts. It always makes me giggle when I hear someone hold court and pronounce the latest novel they've read as the answer to existence. They've got no fucking idea.
