Hey everyone, need your help.

I have upgraded a friends Packard Bell pc to XP Professional from ME and now the USB ports no longer work. Apparently the drivers are no longer there. I'm currently downloading SP1a and will install that tonight but I don't know if this will fix it. There was no issue with the USB ports before the install.

Any ideas?? This never happened when I upgraded my own PC from ME to XP Pro.

Any help would be fantastic and I know ZGEEK is where I will find the support for these troubling times!

Find Pac Bell's website, download the USB Controller drivers.

The SP does include drivers that weren't in the original, you could strike it lucky, but getting the actual drivers is a much better bet. Just because XP supports USB, doesn't mean it supports all USB Controllers - the difference is similar to all video card drivers differences.

Will install the service pack, check the bios tonight. Will also see if I can find anything at driverguide.com
