Bloody Yahell!

When trying to access yahoo, we're getting an intermittent, but frustratingly frequent, error message:

"Yahoo - 999 This page is currently unavailable

Unfortunately, we are unable to process your request at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try again later.

Return to Yahoo!"

I googled "yahoo 999" which turned up a forum posting by someone having the same problem and an answering post said:

"this is definately a case of yahoo blocking your squid server IP. when you bypass proxy, all the users uses their own ip to access yahoo, as these address are'nt being blocked, they will not face any problem."

Which helped not at all.

Any suggestions?

The problem is with your ISP. They are using a transparent proxy server that yahoo is blocking. I found this out by looking at the IP that you are posting with, and performing a reverse DNS lookup on it. Sure enough, it's a proxy server.

You'll need to contact your ISP to do anything about it.
