AFL Wizard Cup

Right the Wizard cup has started. So who thinks Port will win every game just to choke in the final again.

I'm looking forward to the Roo game vs Melbourne this Sat in Canberra. Should be good to see how well these new guys go and to see what the new captain will do.
With no Grant as deputy vice captain could be interesting too.

The Wizard Cup is a waste of time. The only reason it exists is because the Western Bulldogs, North Melbourne and the like can't afford to pay their players for any extra rounds in the season proper.

The Wizard cup is there to test new recruits and new rules (which most of the time suck).
Its a good way to get rookies a taste of the real thing.

Of course the Roos can't afford stuff...thats why they come to Canberra...but hey making 8 finals in 10 years including 2 premierships, I think they are doing OK.

some of the new rules are pretty cool. It's good that they kept the 9 pointer.
I can't wait to see how Carlton will go with their new side and Koota as the captain.

Port will win again, from what I have seen they are the only ones playing a full strong side. again.

Yes, indeed...Before it was the Wizard Cup, it was the Ansett Cup and many moons before this, it was the Pre-Season competiton...it's an excellent way to test rookies, make the mainstays fitter and injure the old blokes before they can really fuck up your season (that's right - I'm talking to YOU Richo).
