Hi everyone!

I have an annoying problem, whereby I get random Internet Pop-Ups occurring every 2-3 minutes, even when I am not running IE. I have tried stopping all processes except for vital ones, running Ad-Aware millions of times, virus searches and even manually searching for anything that shouldn't be there!

Can any one help, or suggest a program that might be able to cure this blight?

While I have been typing this 2 have popped up and I can't live with it any more! I will go nuts!

Thanks

what kind of pop ups, if they come in like windows message boxes that say messenger pop up, tell me that and i'll get you a string to uninstall messenger (if you dont use it) otherwise, try spybot search and destroy, it's pretty good, be careful though, it's more thorough, so it might delete spyware that's needed to run programs....i never cared for spyware ridden programs, so i never had a problem

Yep, if they look like this then disable the messenger service by doing this:

Start-
Control Panel-
Performance and Maintenance-
Administrative Tools-
Services-

Scroll down till you see Messenger. Double click on Messenger, then you will see four box's click stop. Then just above you will see start up type. Click the drop down box and select disabled. Then click apply then ok.

Ad-Aware doesn't catch everything. Install Spybot Search & Destroy as well. It doesn't find everything either, but chances are if one program doesn't get it, the other will.
