View Full Version : hear my sexy new guitar...

I just had to share the fact that I finally got an electric guitar, and it is sw33t.
I managed to scratch up enough to get an Epiphone LP-100 (vintage sunburst finish ;).
All is not rosy though, cos the amp I got with it (very nice sounding Behringer GM110) inexplicably stopped working after 4 days :( ...so I gotta send it back.
I figure the gods must be conspiring against me... but I'll be damned if I'm gonna let them stop me from playing my new instrument, so today I plugged the thing into my cheap-shit stereo, and it actually sounds alright!
If you don't believe me, check out the link below... and even if you do, check it out anyway because you want to hear me play.

(I originally just put that up so my friend could have a listen, but I figured since I went to the trouble, I might as well post a link here too)

Noice! that is a strange song your playing! good 'reverb' sounds also, sounds like your playing in an empty Jazz club.

Behringer stuff is generally crap, I own a V-amp and the build quality is utter shit.
I had to return the 1st one bought coz it broke.
That said, some of the Behringer Amp modulations do sound fantastic, It's just a shame they manufacture them so poorly.

Actually, I'm a fan of Behringer equipment. While I haven't used much of their stuff, I look after some mixing equipment where we've got a Behringer compressor/limiter running and it's been working flawlessly for years (and it spends 99.9% of the time switched on). I've also seen a number of Behringer 802 mixing desks in action and think for small-scale operations they are wonderful.
But to each their own.

In terms of value for money, it's hard not to be impressed with Behringer. The amp I got sounds excellent, I can't wait to get it back :D

Yeah, and I think Behringer have an advantage ... apparently the other stuff available just wasn't up to what the guy that designs Behringer gear wanted, so he started making his own stuff.

Damn Wheezle, sorry to hear about the amp. I bought a BX1200 Behringer bass amp as a practice amp recently. So far I'm very happy with it. Build quality seems pretty good to me. Good sound and kicks butt for a little 120w bass amp with a 12" speaker , even better when I plug the amp direct into my 15" EV 400w TL box (God damn EV make great speakers). I've heard conflicting things about Behringer, my sound engineer friends say that the desks are good and the 19" rack mount stuff is great but that the Guitar amps seem to not be quite up to scratch

Oh go on! Pour salt in my flaming wound.
I'll be learning as soon as I can either be stuffed to borrow DrDivad's, or purchase my bass. But I still lust over guitars and don't upset me or you'll regret it tomorrow. ;):p

They retail at 2 grand, but I will be able to get it for about 1600 or less, if I go to the right guy....
The amp I will be able to get for about 1400 if I go to the same guy.
ALL ENVY ME!!!!!
