I am so sorry to ask such a tool-esque question, but I was just wondering.... if I enter a competition on a website and hit 'submit' and then keep pressing it before it goes to the 'thanks for entering' page, am I likely to get multiple entries?

I realise such behavious can probably be programmed against, but I know that some sites that require payments say to only press 'submit' once to avoid double charging...

So there it is, hopefully the stupidest question you are asked today (and I'm not trying to be stupid, I'm just hoping you don't get slugged with other newbs like me asking such drivel).

It can, yes. Usually doesn't but most certainly can.

My favourite method is to disable the submit button with JavaScript once it's been clicked. It is still possible to click it twice but there's usually 1/4 of a second window to do it.
