In a similar vein to the alternative to windows explorer, what alternatives are people using out there?

I vaguely remember seeing something on a replacement for IE that still used the back end and had a nice load of addon front end features.

May have started with a p?

(I've tried opera, but i find it can get a little memory hungry)

avant uses the back end of IE and is reasonably good.

I use Mozilla. IE only gets used for accessing There. :p

There's a frontend for IE called MyIE2 that seems to be popular with the kids.

And yeah, another vote for Firefox.

I've heard that the AOL browser is based on the IE engine and that it's pretty good.

Hey... 25 million yanks can't be wrong. :D

I have to say i'm loving FireFox.

Renders pages exactly like IE and it's nice and quick too.
Also has built in PopUp killer and a Google search toolbar.

I still use IE for Hotmail to get the formatting bar and other IE specific websites. But FireFox generally r0x0r5!

I use Avant - it works really well and is very handy, especially if you like having lots of windows open at once (like me).

Firefox is the go. Works for pretty much every site and is a superior product to most of those out there.

IE is SHIT, but sometimes you need it I guess.

I use Opera day to day as I like the interface, but it does 'freeze up' when loading pages. I live with it.

FireFox is not bad.
Netscape 7.1 crashes to much for my liking
IE... yes... well ummm... yeah.

That's my 2c worth...

Cheers!

Actually it renders them better than IE... ;) The only time I use IE is when some idiot has written a page that only works on IE (which happens more often than I'd like :().

The "Google" search bar can also be extended to other searches (such as a dictionary, IMDB, WebTender, Amazon, and heaps of other things), which is very convenient!
