Does anyone know of any good/cheap tepenyaki(sp?) resturants in Syd. I shall be visiting Sydney for a week from the 9th of april onwards. I know Mr Pirate sir did want to do such an event at one stage. Also the sydney easter show is on which I also hope to visit.

Theres a nice one in china town. It's halfway up chinatown main arcade on that street that splits it in half..
This ones one of the best "Shangri-la Hotel Sydney's Teppanyaki restaurant is located in a characteristic 1840's building adjoining the hotel, serving classic style Teppanyaki cuisine in intimate dining rooms" Corner of Gloucester and Essex Streets, The Rocks
failing that check out this site http://www.japaneselifestyle.com.au/restaurant_sydney.php

There is also one in Newtown, the bottom end of King Street, St. Peters Station End, the prices there arent that bad, I cant think of the name of the place though, sorry..
Cheap and Teppanyaki really don't go together.
Regardless of where you go you've picked one of the most expensive ways of eating Japanese food ;)
Good Luck.
