I somewhat agree with this But this is about if it is cheating or not, I think that it is cheating (Cyber, Phone sex, Messages, letters if with another person and relating to physical acts... Logically speaking, getting some IRL and cybering are not mutually exclusive (hence the whole question about cheating) even if that is the common opinion. Just like it can be anonymous but that's not the only option.

Is it cheating? Depends solely on what kind of a relationship you have. I believe a lot of useful advice has been given on that front already. Personally I can't understand why people are so opinionated about the whole thing. If we assume that the question in the post is about cybering with someone other than your partner and we assume that your not in one of those funky open relationships, then yes it is cheating.

As to it being lame, if we assume that you have never met the person and haven't established a relationship with them other than for the mutual benefit of getting off, then yes it is lame.

Cybering though is just another sexual activity and can be fun and free of guilt if done with the right person. It can be cheap and disgusting too, but so can any type of sexual activity.
