im not really sure if this is the right forum to put this in, but i cant think of a better one, so move at your own free will.

considering we have a post pictures you have taken (http://forums.zgeek.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16003) thread, & well, i dont take pictures, i paint etc, it hought we should have a 'your artwork' thread. im hoping that im not the only one on these forums. so here are thumbnails of my pics with links to bigger versions, their titles, & the method etc (all these pieces are mine, & i can prove it considering im in possesion of them all & i have signed & dated them)......

i keep myself locked behind the walls in my mind so you dont see my pain (http://www.zgeek.com/albums/uploads/hans_painting_maze1.jpg)
http://www.zgeek.com/albums/uploads/hans_painting_maze1.thumb.jpg

done in poster paints. 1m x 1m.

signifies depression. the guy in the maze is lost, alone & helpless, too scared to get up, yet if he did, if he stopped wallowing in his depression, if i just stood up, he could see the way out of the maze as he is taller then the walls, but yet he doesnt.

traditionally a sky wold be light in the middle & dark at the top. but as i wanted to show that the maze was infinately large i did this the other way round, so that not only the walls of the maze, but the sky gets darker the more distant you get. this also helps with the depression. normally youd thinkof yellows & oranbges as warm colours, but i dont think they are here because the way i have used them & other coloours in this piece.

this is up in the 6th form common room at my old school. when they put mine & other pieces up they were going to varnish them, to protect them. i had a bit of a panic when i found out & ran down there to make sure they hadnt done mine, shiney & depression dont mix. luckily they hadnt!!!

untitled (http://www.zgeek.com/albums/uploads/Hans_painting_dining_room_3.jpg)

again poster paint, this time on wood. the shininess is pva glue painted over the grain of the wood. 1st painted the black with pva on, then the mat black to keep the grain of the wood in the piece. is just over 1m high, & about 0.6m wide, i think.

a tiny section of the previous picture blown up & slightly changed. shows loneliness this time, not depression.

is in our dining room at home :D

Lauren: confused confident & crazy (http://www.zgeek.com/albums/uploads/unit_3_final_piece_c.sized.jpg)
http://www.zgeek.com/albums/uploads/unit_3_final_piece_c.thumb.jpg

lino printing. oil paints on paper. the biggest one is about A4 size.

done for my a-level, the 3 pieces show 3 different things....
how she sees herself - confused
how she wants to be seen - confident
how she is seen - crazy

the shades & colours were adapted on computer from photos i took, the colours wer not simplified, i did that by hand. eich piece contains 5 different colours (i think)

also an as yet untitled piece, also i stole the imag off here, but hey, it inspired me, what can i say. (http://www.zgeek.com/albums/uploads/hardrock_zgeek_naked_woman_mine_001.jpg)
http://www.zgeek.com/albums/uploads/hardrock_zgeek_naked_woman_mine_001.thumb.jpg

acrylics on paper. A4 size

thieved form one of hardrocks, all i did was crop it on computer. again colour sections selected by hand, & painted. again 5 shades. only differnece between them is the colour.

sort of has a fire water & earth feel about it, though not sure if this is going to be reflected in the title that i have yet to think up.

i have a couple more pieces in the pipe line, all i need is the time (& money & supplies)

I like the maze. However that guy should think out of the box: he could clearly climb over the walls.

exactly, thats the point & why its about depression. coz if you think logically about it etc. i cant really find the right words to explain what i mean, but i think you know anyway

Let's try to kick this thread along a bit people! Surely there are some more artists out there amongst you?

I myself am about as artistic as a house brick, so here's a painting my SO did for her HSC. I dunno if it has a name, so let's call it "Monochromatic Unhappy Hairy Chick". I dunno if it is supposed to signify anything, so I'd be happy to hear any interpretations.

Tried those links in the first post, but they were dead.

Here's one of my digital paintings:

Your pics in the first post didn't show up :( And to the ones that did show, there's some cool stuff there :D

I was going to wait til my new private gallery came into effect, but stuff it, I will just attach em ;)

Here are a few of my artworks... just a quick selection.
The usual copywrite stuff is in effect - don't steal it and call it your own (or imply it is your own) or I will bop you on the head with something hard and rub sticky stuff in your hair.

Technical information (materials/dimensions etc) are included in the close-ups.
Let me know what you think.

How do you post thumbnails that are linked to where the art is hosted?
