My mobo chipset fan is starting to make a hell of a sound (its on the way to the grave). I am thinking of sticking on a zelman heat sink (no fan).
Has anybody used one? Do they cool the chips enough?
Cause I know that once its on, its there for good.
Thanks

*Sticks hand up* No I haven't. :) *Decides to add constructive comment* If ypu're doing it for the peace and quiet, isn't it the PSU fan that makes the most noise?
So anyway, I came home yesterday and my PC was making a right racket, buzzing away like mad. I decide to take the side of and start pressing things to see what's vibrating. Couldn't suss it out so I shut it down. "Eh?! it's still buzzing? WTF!?" Looks out the window, next doors mowing the lawn :D Durrrr.

Well Since I have a heat sink for my videocard, a (near) silent fan for my cpu and a very quiet power supply, I can hear the chipset plane as day.

you can get a silcone spray to lube up the fan, its normally just a matter of peeling back a sticker and a quick shot of the spray.
Saves buying a new HS!
