This has been racking my brain for a while now, and I can't figure out what encryption this is. It's definately not base 64. (No matter how many times I try, it keeps coming up as gibbilty gook.) Anyway, here's the text:

Any help is greatly appreciated.

[Don't worry, this isn't sensitive info.]

For starters the context and location of the info would help. Analysing just the short snippet by itself isn't too tempting.

I hope Springer's reply is the only one needed from the I didn't read the guidelines (http://forums.zgeek.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16702) category. :: edit : Thanks for adjusting your approach, you're a champ :)::

P.S. Applying Base64 is not encryption, it's encoding.

I received an email from someone with that exact text, all in one line. If this is the wrong place to post this I apologise.

Sorry if this is a silly question,
Could you ask the person who sent it to you what sort of encryption/encoding it is?

Got a whole heap of nasties in my email, with message body something like that, not so long ago.

Might be some encoded graphics, e.g. uuencode, but the lack of an appropriate header suggests against this.
