I'm having problems with copying DVD's using my new (ish) pioneer 107d burner.

It burns to dvd fine, but copying from one (purchased movie) dvd to a blank and I get copy protection and it refuses to burn.
I'm using the nero which came bundled with the burner.

Any help would be appreciated.

hey wow, the copy protection is workin...

u gotta get a thing called "smart ripper" or a dvd ripping program which will extract the movie itself only. then u can burn it.

Retail movies are stored on larger (dual-layer) DVD's. You need an application (such as Clone DVD) that will re-encode ('shrink') the movie to fit on a blank DVD-R.

An application called 'Any DVD' will remove the copy-protection on ... you guessed it ... 'Any DVD'.
