Dumb Question From a Computer Illiterate

How do you get onto the zgeek irc chat thingy or whatever it is? Or is this a need to know basis? I get bored at work and need to chat crap. Pls explain every step as i am not too good with computers. Help appreciated

u'll need some sort of irc client.
I'll make an assumption that you're using windows, in which case mIRC www.mirc.co.uk (I believe) is probably going to be the most attainable.

get and install this client (You will be given a chance to be the first person in the universe to register it)

once installed and started some sorta little dialog box will come up asking you for server info and crap. Ignore it, its there to piss you off, close it. on the command line, type /server irc.oz.org

once connected to the server type /j #zgeek

aussie.sydney.oz.org will probably be more successful.

Unless you work for absolute muppets, though, chances are you won't be able to get through the firewall on 6667.
