Could any of you nice people reccomend IRC software that is preferably free and easy to use? If I *have* to I will pay but I'm guessing there are freeware ones out there.
Either way, I guess I'd also like somewhere that will give me a basic tutorial in it's use.
I've looked at a few but wondered what others would reccomend?
Thanks

Yeah, I used to use mIRC too... but i got the shits with it saying "would you like to register" every time i started it up :swear:
As a Linux user, i'm happy with XChat (http://www.xchat.org/). I find it to be light, fast and quite easy on the eye. It's really configurable, and can be made to look anyway you want it, be it black background, white background, or the stylish semi-transparent one.
It's also available for Windows on the download page (http://www.xchat.org/download/) under 'Windows Binaries'.
I'm not at home at the moment, or i'd give you a screenshot of mine, but here's one (http://www.xchat.org/files/screenshots/xc-win32-201p1.png) the XChat team prepared earlier...

mIRC IS free and probably one of the easiest ones to use. You can click continue after the trial period even when its greyed out, because paying for is like a donation of sorts, its not compulsory. Thats what I use.. triallian sucks the big wang, and all you fan boys can kiss my sweet arse :p :D
:edit: oh yeah, if you want a hand setting it up or joining into #zgeek, lemme know :)
