I think I killed my graphics card....
My PC was being a bitch and not booting, so I pulled out my graphics card, and ram, then put them back in again to try to re seat them in their slots. the PC then booted, the RAM was loose. But now the monitor has gone all fucked up, the display is all red and crazy.....
Help me!!
It's an Nvidia Gforce 4 440MX 128Mb.

Firstly, Do you have access to another AGP or PCI video card, any will do, I usually have some spares around for testing.....
If not, Get a friend to try his/her card in it (unless you have an onboard vid card). If it works, happy days, just get a new card (unless yours is under warranty...
The other thing I can think off is check your monitor pins to see if they are bent at all....
Good luck.....
I hope you didn't do this while the power was on...
Another thing i can think of is static killed your card. I once wasted a network card by placing my finger on the chip and wiping about a centimeter of dust off it.

did you unplug the computer from the mains before taking it out? because the computer still has power going into it even when it is off if you have it plugged in. also de-gaussing the monitor might help, most new monitors have the option in their menu.

Just to answer for Excalibur because he's busy right now;
The problem has been fixed and his computer is now up and running again. Thanks for all your help but no more advice is needed at this given time. :)

Just doing my best to avoid sounding like the bogan I truly am. Best way to avoid looking like a bogan might be to tell us how it was actually fixed.
Inquiring minds must know. ;)

*cough* Stuff you wanna know forum.
Well, bogan can't be truly defined, no word means the same. It could be likened to yobbo, or hardcore-Aussie-bocco... but they aren't quite the same.
you'd have to meet one.

Heres some definitions shamelessly stolen from urbandictionary.com
Australian term used to describe members of society that are a combination of what the Yanks call Rednecks, Jocks and Trailer Park Trash. most likely found wearing mockies, flanalette shirts and consuming VB (bad Aussie beer). Large amount of bogans can be found living in The Borough, Bendigo, Aust.
those who have 10 kids running around their feet, smoking on a cigg, swearing their heads off, every second word is the F-word, with a very distinct voice tone. Wearing cheap, old worn clothing, all whilst walking into the bottle shop or the tobbacconist.
An Australia who usually goes by the name of Gaz, Darryn, Bazza or something similar, with a keen eye for holdens, fords and pannel vans. They are usually found sporting a fannellette shirt, tight, black ripped jeans, moccissons or ugh boots and AC/DC merchandise. The drink VB and are fans of rock music which may be heard blasting out their car windows as they "cruise" around the neighbour hood late at night.
everybody has their own definition but you get the idea
