I have just noticed a new user account called "ASP.NET Machine A..."

Is it just used to store web passwords? Do i need it?

I'm scared.

The Microsoft line is:

"Another user account is created for the ASP. Net Worker Process (Aspnet_wp.exe) so that it is not running with administrator privileges. This helps to increase security because if there was a breach the worker process is running as a lowly restricted user rather than having administrator privileges on the local machine......................

..................You can remove this account, but it is vital if you do asp.net development work on your machine. By removing the account you may find some of your projects will no longer function correctly."
I have no link as this is from some .NET documentation that MS sent me along with a heap of other gumpf

I'm thinking a quick Google would answer anything you need to know about it.
