View Full Version : Elderly Drivers
This was posted to aus.cars.
The driver doesn't even seem to have even noticed.
Wonder if it's legit?

If you look closely, it seems the kid in the front passenger in the car behind the walkers (the Volkswagen), she seems to be laughing. Or screaming. Either way, that old lady looks like she focused on whats in front of her.

Looks like a dummy to me (shit it could have been me ). I'm not sure about the authenticity of the "print" either.

I wouldn't doubt it being legit. People tend to look a lot like dolls when they get hit by something going fast. Remember - crashtest dummies were created to simulate human movement in crashes, they flop around like crazy.
Oh yeah and that's seriously bad if it is legit. Cars are nasty fucking things.

It's a fairly good picture too which also makes me doubt it.

I don't think the guy fell out of the window.
I think he was hit while crossing the road with those other people.
His suitcase is flying through the air.
I was going to say that the pic must be a redlight camera, but after being victim to a redlight camera myself - don't they usually photograph the car from behind?

Oh shit! I didn't even think that was some dude. I thought it was like a shopping bag or something! I'm thinking the walkers just had their stuff in their hands knocked away by the car. That guy is in some serious shit!!!!! Old people should not be allowed to drive. Why would you buy a Mercedes Wagon, too? (Maybe for all those dead bodies of people she keeps hitting.)
Edit: Do you think that there would be a dent on the front headlight?

Whoa - that's some bad arse driver.
If you look at the windscreen and front quarter panel - seems there is damage. Unless it's just a weird reflection, I reckon it is real. And it does look like a red light cam photo too
I think that generally we have our camera's from behind, but it might be different in Europe - and the resolution might be better there too. There used to be a traffic safety site with pics of people going thru red light cameras just before they would have obviously hit another car. They were from much farther away than this shot, but the resolution was still okay.
One for Snopes I think.
aha! The before shot....
Surely this is confirmation.

I got myself hit by a car once.
I was off my face during schoolies week.
I stepped into the road and then woke up on the road asking "where is my hat?"
I wonder what happened to the picture I made the driver take with me?

Jeezus, why didn't he look out for old blind biddy drivers before he crossed the road? Ouch.
Anyone know the damage?
Only cameras used to book you take pictures from behind. This is most likely just a traffic monitoring camera. Also I think the picture from behind is just some bullshit NSW privacy act thing, so you cannot see the driver or passengers in the car, since photos taken of you without your knowledge are inadmissable as evidence or some crap like that.

Red Light and speed cameras now take photos from behind to catch motorbikes, because they have no front number plate. They used to be able to get away with it, but not anymore.

The old lady driver seems to see the walker in the before pic but then in the after incident pic looks determined to get the fuck out of there; as seem by her staring into the distance!.
God damn, how frightened does the chick in the car behind look. Mentally scarred for life.

Ha, did you know there is very little difference in the number of cars and motorbikes that escape detection. This includes those due to bikes having no front number plate.
The number of motorcyclists on the road is almost insignificant compared to cars.
Also I think you'll find the reason there is a bigger issue these days is because they want to use one camera to do both directions. Greedy pricks...
