View Full Version : Fucking Wests Tigers
What the fuck is wrong with the Wests Tigers. They've played great almost the whole year, now just when people were starting to have some confidence in them, and people start showing up to games in record numbers they fall to pieces.
In their last 2 games they have not scored a single point, and have conceded 106, this comes from the formerly 3rd best defensive side in the NRL.
It seems that as soon as the going gets a little tough, the Tigers all turn into sissy little girls, and just stop playing, it just fucking not good enough. If they want to succeed they need to realise that sometimes the other team might score first, but this is not the end of the match, a game goes for 80 minutes, not 10. Get with it Tigers, you are first grade NRL team, start acting like it.
Disclaimer: Yes I know this is a geek forum, and this is a rant and is very ungeeky, but I have supported the Wests Tigers since day 1, and before that the Magpies, and am a current season ticket holder, I just needed to vent my frustration at their self destruction.

dont worry mate, they'll come right. Give em time. The panthers will beat them, but, the tigers have been going good all season. Just a bit of a hiccup. Give it time, and theyll come right. All is not lost, remember, it only a game.
Its so unbelievably frustrating to watch them play so bad, when you know they are so much better. I hope Tim Sheens gives them a really good kick in the arse before their next match.
i'm a tigers fan too (not as much as i used to be) and was also a 'pies fan before hand.
but i reckon they need to be kicked out of the league and replaced with the newtown jets

Being a New Zealander by birth I feel obligated to follow the NZ Warriors. I can understand your frustration because the Warriors are playing like a sack of shit this year......... why is it so ? Why are they trying to punish me like this ?
Take some small amount of comfort that the tigers managed to thrash the warriors by something like 50-0.

Poor Tigers never stood a chance against the mighty Dragons! After the savage beating we handed 'em it's no wonder they were still soft from shock this week :p

The tigers performance makes me sad too. As a Balmain then wests tigers fan for longer than I can remeber, I am used to their performance being a bit less than the greatest, but fellas, come on, get your collective act together. 106 - 0 is just not on.

The Tigers are indeed in a sorry state of affairs.....but all is not lost...if we can turn this losing streak around next weekend with a somewhat decisive victory then Im sure a place in the eight is not outside our grasp.

Word, if Newtown were re-admitted I'd drop the Panthers and follow Newtown. Although i grew up in the lower mountains/penriff area and have followed Penrith all my life, I've been living in Newtown for a few years and it feels more like home.
Actually it would be hard to stop following the Panthers

Keep the faith, Damo, your boys will be back soon. They have some old heads in John Skandalis, Scott Sattler and Mark O'Neill and a good half in Prince, even if he is a stinkin' Queenslander.
From what I have seen of the Tigers, they just lack a bit of faith in themselves and seem to hang their heads after they make a mistake. When they start looking forward to making amends for their mistakes rather than worrying about them, you will find that they will be a lot more competitive.
Cheers

PS I used to be a Steelers supporter but now follow nobody inthe NRL (except Reg Reagan). Fucking Saints screwed us over in a big way....
Much improved performance this week, the Tigers actually managed to score some points, 24 of them to be precise, still not as many as the opposition, but only a 6 point deficit. Maybe next week we can claw our way back into the winners circle against Manly.

Strangely enough Manly is one of the only teams I don't have a real grudge against, they saved the ARL from Super-League and are only now recovering from the consequences.

All the bullshit team reshuffling was gay i reckon, turned a good sport into a businees venture. Bring back the days of old, where even the teams that didn't win every weekend could play in the comp......bears, steelers all them that got gobbled up.
Go newcastle...

The same thing is happening to a lot of Brisbane League and Union teams too, it's a pity that we'll never get back to the days of supporting the suburb where you grew up in, instead supporting a team that covers most of a city.
At least some of the Sydney League teams were able to keep their clubs in the lower grades going so the community doesn't completely lose out to the big business'.
