I am running XP Pro on C: which is on a 40Gb ATA disk drive with Program Files and there's a 120Gb SATA disk (F:) connected via card.

I decided to partition C: so moved all doccuments across to F: and scheduled a scan disk on C:

Restarted computer and scan disk completed and windows restarted and this cycle continues...

If i decline a scan disk then computer reboots and i get to choose the start mode but safe mode loads att the drivers and stops.

I haven't got a back up, which was exactly what i was going to do next. Which makes me sad.

Any ideas?

sounds like a link of C:\documents and settings\USER\ has something at startup/initalization..... spyware or a dropper. most hide in the temp area.

might have to DOS move it back.

goes to show.... don't move.... COPY, and always back that ass up.... I mean OS up

I had a problem just like that last night the only thing i found that works is 1 either fully reinstall windows xp. or 2(now this worked on mine but im not to shure if it will work on yours) stick your windows xp pro disk into the cd drive boot onto cd install choose to reinstall xp if its what happened on mine it will scan the drive and make some changes then it will make you reset when you reset take the cd out and see if it works then.
