DumHed and I will be in the city of churches on Friday and Saturday this coming weekend, and since neither of us have ever been there before I would like some suggestions on what are good things to do/see. Also if any Adelaide geeks would be interested in getting together for a beer somewhere on Friday afternoon I would be open to that suggestion.

Totally OT (as it would require a 13,000 mile commute to join the fun, much as I'd like to:( ) But FYI "Shenanigans" is my all time favorite word.
Campaign Slogan: Fuck Berry & Fuck Kush! Ok! mmmnnnmmmm
This commercial brought to you by the Shenanigan/hooligan financial support group.

You fools and your foolish lack of response. You'll pay the ultimate cost for this treachery.
I will be around friday, but going to the SNOW (mt hotham) on saturday with the adelaide uni ski trip. Oh yeah.... POON O RAMA. To all those not going, sucked in.

Nice one, Mt Hotham has the most incredible mountain roads; make sure you have your camera ready.
Friday is a better day for stuff because we're picking up the van (the purpose of the trip and another story altogether) in the city during the day sometimes and thus have transport.

Camera, interesting idea...
Well, I work, but am finished at 5.30... Depends if you wanna catch up for a quick beer or want info on good places to go an look around.
Tourist stuff I'm not good at, so I'll leave that to adelaidians that care. Beer I am good at, so depends of where you are exactly. Lots of pubs in town...

I have lunch 1pm every Friday at Cafe Palazo (opposite the Piccadilly cinemas) on Oconnel St Nth Adelaide with 2 other geeks. All other Geeks welcome. Other than that Belgium Beer bar was goos last time I was there.

Hmm...belgian beer bar hey. That could be some sort of plan...
We're leaving on Saturday afternoon, as we have to drive back to Sydney. I've not been further west in NSW than Bathurst so I don't mind that part too much.

those pubs i mentioned are just some of the more well know ones
sure some wanks may b there but you also get them at other pubs like the exeter and cranker, just ignore the wanks
the cranker is average
but
exter is good
as is the crown and sceptre
and for eating
eat anywhere on gouger st
And Freuds Cat
cafe palazzo make average ceaser salad,no where near as good as the cafe life in norwood

Adelaide - spent a month there one week.... Granted I was staying with my GF and her parents..... :D
I agree with Beerbaron, the Exeter is the best bar. One thing about Adelaide that I like is that the barmaids actually pull a great beer, and all in one go too! I am fucking despise getting a beer and having some airhead bimbo fuck it up by having too much head on it. Then they start tipping it over and filling it again.... Aarrrgghhh! Just pull the beer, you fucking idiot! Sorry, I get a little worked up about beer being dissed in such a manner.
I had lunch a place in Brighton last Xmas - can't remember the name. Directly across from the pier, and good beer. Scenery was good too.

Not really wank bars... Bars like the cranker are awesome tho. My cousin is teh bar manager at the Lion and my ex gfs brother is the bar manager at the Oxford. I've been to both of them about twice in the last 6 months...
How about the Austral, was good when it had live music...
Incidentally the star of greece is about 5 minutes from my parents house. (assuming the one aldinga is the only one) It used to be a fish and chip shop... weird.

Are people still interested then in patronising (as in being patrons of) one of these places?
I suggest then deciding on a time and place to meet (I would reckons around 6pm somewhere in the city - I don't know where good meeting spots are) and then going to find beer for a couple of hours.
Around 6pm is fine by me, I'll be in casuals anyways.
How about the rundle st end of rundle mall? Easy to find for everyone involved.

Sounds good to me. Look for 1 x angry redhead standing around with at least 2 long haired freaks (DumHed and Movis).

The end of rundle mall is probably a good place to meet, prominent location & it makes it easy to spot people.

ok it is settled then. Adelaide people wishing a beer, meet at 6pm at this alleged 'rundle st'. I will wear my nametag.
