have a look on ebay as they are already selling them. ive seen some lower res ones go for 20-30 quid on there. never bought one as been sceptical on the video quality, and my digicam does prety much the same thing.

the dv5000 is cheaper at retail than it is on ebay.

if you factor in the sd deals they are not too bad, but the prob with these cameras is there is no active zoom, and 4x digital is crappy. imho youd be better to go for a cheap dv camera.

My brother has one. I'll ask him to post in a couple of hours.

I bought the mustek dv5000 last week for £100 (uk). I wasn't expecting great quality video, considering the price & size (it's tiny!) but it's absolutely brilliant for messing around with my friends and making web-quality movies.
Quality is about the same as a webcam but because it uses the mpeg4 codec it can record about 1min/2meg.
If you're interested I could post some sample videos later.

if you dont mind then that would be great. I am mainly using them to coincide with making interactive flash movies and stuff like that for cdrom and internet.

Okay...
This (http://www.littlebritain.net/hosted/unsorted/garden_run.wmv) I made earlier today just to show off what the quality is like.
The video was shot in medium quality mode (high quality looks quite a bit better, but has a much slower framerate; so it's only really useful when shooting a scene with little-to-no movement).
Note: Quality is much better when the camera is held as still as possible.
I hope I've been helpful! I may post some more vids tomorrow if I get some spare time. :)

thats brilliant mate. its actually better quality than i thought.
i love your dogs expressions, like," wtf are you doin?"
no need to post any more movies for my sakes! off to order one tomorrow.
you could make a good blair witch clone with these (and some large SD cards).
:)
