Stuff I wanna know:
I need to restrict the number of characters [eg,. 100] on the dir structure on windows 2003server.
In essence I am having problems that when a dir structure / unc path contains more than xxx characters the files can become inaccesable/unstable to access.
Nothing that I have looked at on MSDN etc seems to point me in a right direction. I was wondering if there is a reghack that would limit this, there seems to be no option of locking down the file structure in this way that is native in the least.
Any help welcomed, please no smart arse comments like 'use a real operating system' 'linux would handle this' etc,. Its a network that I work on, I dont own it!!
Thanks in advance.

hmmmm thinking: I'm not sure if this affects all programs accessing files. Could be a client/application issue.
Will investigate and find out more.
