Greetings All,

Alas, Alack, I have had no luck so I now pen a missive here.

I used to be a member of a website that had satellite images of Australia (Well, NSW at least) on which you could input a location and it would show you an image of that location.

You could then zoom in to quite a degree - enuff to see wood on a shed roof or a ball on a carport roof.

From memory, it was quite a large site and worked well.

Does anyone know the name the site of which I speak?
OR, as second choice, does anyone know of a site which allows the same?

The only thing I can remember about it was that it was free to use but you had to register with the site to login and use it.

Cheers! :D

Thanks for that....It was a little more advanced than that one, you could actually type in a location (street, suburb) and it would show that area...Then you could elect to zoom right in and pan left and right...

It's a damn shame...I wish I could remember it because it was a crackerjack site!

the other one it might have been was the ikonos public satellite, i think they might have had a free period after they launched or something.

YAY! Theyre free again. I remember a small amount of time in which they made it cost to look up anything that wasnt listed already. Nice.

Multimap (http://www.multimap.com/) has a sweet arial/ map overlay, although the closest you can get is 1:5000.

Goatboy - That's right....It's either that (in a previous incarnation) or very close to that....

I have this horrible feeling that was it and they've changed....

Bummer....Thanks for your help all....
Will keep trawling to see if I find it or similar and will let you know.

Thanks!!!!
