I purchased SW: Battlegrounds the other day and have been playing it a bit to get used to it, to me it is a good game; slightly compareable to battlefield 1942 and Vietnam. I have to say that I like it (and yes, I am a star-wars original fan) and it does have a 'fair' amount of replayability, granted ive only had it for a day and a bit so far.
The game looks good, not great but average for todays standards. It is a more simplistic game than Battlefield but has its own rewards, especially if you are a fan of the Trilogy anyway.
Gameplay modes are quite interesting with Galactic conquest: Conquering each planet step by step. Gaining or losig a foothold on each planet.
Anyways, what do you all think.

I can run it fine with on 1024x768 full AA and highest settings with my Athlon 2800, 9600XT256, 512RAM. Sys reqs are pretty low. Should run fine on most average PC's today.

I'll be giving it a whirl next week @ a lan. From what we've been talking about and researching it seems pretty cool though. Yer, kind of like battlefield but with the star wars stuff like landspeeders, striders etc..
will give a propper verdict after that but atm it's a thumbs up.

It got pretty lousy reviews on Penny Arcade, but I'll be giving it a go this weekend.

You have to play it for yourself, because many people will like it but im guessing hardcore battlefield players will hate it for it's simplistic style. Meh, I like it and will prolly play a fair bit @ Lans
Yeha I dont mind it actually, quite good gameplay... but being a "hardcore BF fan", it is a little weird....
But also being a starwars fan, I give it 7/10

Ive had the chance to play on LAN and it wasnt too bad, prefere BF but is a good change. only problem I see is that even on highest rez with all settings maxed it still seems a little blurry in game. Meh, probably just me.

Played it today. The old PC will run it. For what it's worth, bf: 1942 is a better game. Hell, even old CS is a better game. It's slow, poorly orchestrated and the menus are a frustrating endeavour to forge through to get to the game. Honestly, it was fun, but I'm glad I didn't pay for it first.
