Right we already know the stupid OFLC has banned Liesure Suit Larry for Australian release.
Well here come some more..

Playboy Mansion is in doubt on a release in Australia. So far it has been pushed back for a 26th February release.

Vampire Masquerade: Bloodlines is also on the chopping block for its sexual content.

Going by this pattern, I would expect Singles: Flirt Up Your Life to be banned.
Hell if the wanted to they could go after The Sims 2 because of its suggestive Wahoo in bed.

Hands up who would like to slap the OFLC silly? By that I mean with a lead pipe.

If they ban Bloodlines i will be so very, very, very pissed off.
I have been looking forward to that game for a LONG time.

Why can't they just bring out an R18+ rating already?

So why didn't Max Payne (the first one) get blocked because of one of the boss characters getting a blowjob? He even ran backwards with his pants around his ankles.

OFLC == FUCKED

It's not the OFLC's fault. They're just implementing the rules laid down by the law.

The law's the way it is because of Fred Nile, and with Family First in power it's unlikely to change anytime soon.

If you voted Democrats or Liberals above the line in the Senate ballot, this is your fault.

I don't even see the point of classifying games at all, it's not as though the guy at the local EB is going to say "That's an MA15+ game son, i'm going to need to see some ID".

In the case of the parent buying a game for their child, you would have to be pretty stupid to pick up a game called DOOM 3 and buy it thinking that it's about flowers and sunshine.

Many parents are stupid.

Most people are stupid unfortunately. Our duty as intelligent citizens is to devise ways to trick them into giving us money.
In any case ratings are irrelevant in games seeing as if a game is banned we go onto the interweb and download a copy. Or if you're less morally bankrupt you can mail order a copy from overseas.

Actually my staff and I, at GW, do ask for I.D. if its a MA15+ game.
By LAW we have to. We also by law can not diplay (in means of on demo) any MA15+ games in store.
There is a fine if caught selling MA15+ titles to anyone under 15. To this day I don't know how Department stores, the biggest culprits, get away with not asking for ID.
My staff also explain to the parents the rating and why its MA15+. Its always fun hearing little Johnny start defending why he needs Manhunt.

I believe this is one reason we don't have an R18+ rating. If they can't enforce a MA15+ rating, they have no chance with a R18+.
Australia desperately needs the R18+ but they first need to enforce the current laws.

Ultimately it should come down to the parents. They are there to raise their children. If they are not aware of 10 year old little Johnny playing Manhunt, there is something wrong. This also links to parents sueing game companies because it killed or corrupted their children. Well if he/she is so unstable that a computer game makes them go out and do something stupid, why the hell did you let them have/play the game in the 1st place. (Young kids generally don't have $100 so the parent would have been the buyer)
Parents need to play a bigger part in their child's life and stop using outside supplements as an excuse.

So far no news on any editing of GTA San Andreas but hey, remember it took 11 months for them to realise about Manhunt.
