I'm trying to remember the name of an old PC game... probably very late eighties to mid 90's.

All i can remember is it's similar to The Lost Vikings (http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?gameid=1413) as far as game play goes. it's also a little like Zool 2.

i recall it having bright coloured graphics, the walls and stuff looked a lot like candy cane. bright reds and whites.

you had to complete each level before going to the next (of course) and there'd be things to jump over (i think you could jump???) but i do remember there's these things like air pumps where your character would inflate himself to float. of course float too high and your much expanded body would pop on things like spikes in the ceiling.

for the life of me i can't figure out what the character (or characters) looked like. but i do remember playing it on a 386.

anyone here old enough to remember the game? rep+ to any and all who come up with the name or a few more clues and hints to discovering it's identity.

the reason why i want to remember it is i've just got Lost Vikings for my Game Boy (got the Game Boy for Fathers Day but it took a few weeks for the Lost Vikings to turn up). i'm not a gamer, but i do enjoy games such as these.

and if anyone can suggest other titles for the Game Boy in a similar theme to the Lost Vikings (or... Lemmings!) then PM me or post a reply here.

Sounds to me like Jazz Jack Rabit.

"The Incredible Machine/s" doesn't ring a bell.

i know it ain't "Jazz Jack Rabbit". i know that game. i think i've still got the shareware 3.5 floppy around here somewhere.

it had FANS in it!

there were fans that you would switch on, or they would always be on. or you might have to switch them off.

they would be in the walls... and ceilings... (and floors?) and they would help propel you after you've inflated yourself.

my mind is slowly coughing up remnants and pieces of this game. any help would be most appreciated.

I remember the game, but not it's name.
You could do other thing to your character to allow them to pass traps like tougher skin.

i'm explaining the game, and piecing together fragmented memories and a week ago (a day after i've posted this thread) my 11 year old says, "it's the Lost Vikings"

huh?

so i beat a few more levels, get 67% into the game, and guess what. it's THAT level (and the next few have the same sort of environment) not a whole different game!

but thanks to those who responded. your Rep Cheque is in the mail.

and i've figured out my Christmas wishlist. a whole bunch of Gameboy Advance games: Lemmings, Cannon Fodder, Double Dragon, Army Men, Tetris Worlds (or Tetris DX).

i think i'll also try and find Norse by Norsewest (a.k.a. The Lost Vikings 2) for the PC. not sure if you can get it on the Gameboy though.
