My cat's breath smells like cat food.
My face wash has "Swiss Glacial Water" in it.
Bollocks.

Plough - that is borderline flamage in my opinion. This is not the forum for short, sarcastic replies to people's poetry or prose posts.
So you didn't like the poem. There's no need to prance around pretending like you're the cool kid in class.
Personally, I like it. I'm not sure about the last part, it does end pretty abruptly, but the first two stanzas (they're stanzas right?) work really well together, throwing a simple concept before a fairly major one and comparing them in rhyme.
It works for me. :)

Part of the charm IMO. The missing word which would have made it complete should have popped into your head.

Thank you for saying that. That's what I was hoping for.
Does anyone care for my interpretation of the poem?

Please. I would be interested to hear the thought process behind it.

It's a commentary on the cyclical love/hurt nature of a long term relationship. We hurt one another until we decide to make up (heal). We renew our vows - make up sex - breed. Love, honor, obey (Heel!)* The fighting/hurting has a cleansing effect. The make up allows for us to slip back in to the same patterns which eventually cause resentment. Familiarity breeds contempt or we only hurt the ones we love etc. Repeat.
*This may or may not be uniquely American. Wedding vows include something about "Love, honor and obey". A command given to a dog to make it obey is Heel!
