Anyone played this? i got a copy, dont very little, seems just like an expanded version of the first. Interesting the way its set out where you are in the city able to go anywhere and can drive to the races and shops. But the game keeps fucking crashing!

My computer is above all the requirements. its a p4 1.8 756 ram, 64mb gf3 ti 200. But the game will just crash at certain points, like trying to look at other cars in career mode. leaving the shop when you accelerate, so its fucked! Updated everything. but still get the same erorr it freezes sound goes jitterey and little green squares uniformly placed over static image on the screen

Its a mad game, i've got a blue r34 gtr but it keeps crashing whenever I go over 160km/h :confused:

lol, i got only a totally hotted up 240 sx, with rep of like 4.8 starts i thgink, i aint got anything else yet, its a fun one that mixes drift and grip (with the different tuning)

but im not that far yet,

anyway my game dont crash, it hasnt at 260km's yet ....

Got it, finished it, loved it.

Not a single crash, both with and without the patch, a fantastic range of cars to play with, good variety in race types, and a thoroughly realistic city to hoon around it. Much better than the first game, if only because the free-drive system is fun.

I'm fairly certain my RX-8 was going way faster than 300km/h though, which is a tad unlikely...

Only downside is some of the modifications make your car look bad, but you have to use them to get enough stars to move on to the next level. If you're creative though you can still have some pretty good looking cars with as many as 7 or 8 stars.

Tricks to making the game more fun:
- set the difficulty to hard, or at least to normal (it defaulted to easy when I installed it)
- try lots of different cars. Sure, the cash is limited and it makes life tough but do it anyway.
- don't expect to be able to take parts from one car and install them on another. It don't work that way in the real world, nor does it work that way in the game (I'd have loved to take the supercharger out of my V6 and bolt it onto the 4 cylinder bomb my GF drives)
- do plenty of outrun races - these win you "unique" upgrades that you can't get if you move onto the next stage without winning the part.

I've finished the game with my 240sx, its a beast and I love it.

i really dont know what to do to solve problem. nothing on support site. latest graphics drivers. So yeah its messed. new computer soon but hols and i need something to keep me busy when not drunk

The online play in the last one was soo immensely dodgy. The lag meant that you might crash into a car when that appears to be 10 metres ahead of you, but is actually driving behind you trying to overtake. It was unbelievable, you'd think EA could do better with their budgets, and reputation.

I'm finding this game fun, yet annoyingly long.... in that i mean you have to do SO much just to get some decent upgrades available to you.
I also hate that you have to do appearance mods inorder to get better performance mods.... I wanted to make a stock-looking beast that would destroy rice... but nooooo :(

You can pretty much do anything like this to any car. Its all about fabrication of mounts.

That siad, i'm not palying this game purely for the fact that Underground 1 made me karate chop my PS2 controller in half due to EA making the AI totally fucking retarded.

And by retarded i mean a Twin turbo supra for some reason can not outrun a fucking chrysler neon and oh look its the last corner and i am way way ahead of the other cars, hmmm thats strange a car just appeared from fucking nowehere directly on top of my bonnet, how quaint. Oh wait now everyone has passed me and im last.

All of a sudden i black out and my controller is in half and my hand really really hurt.

Don't think they had the catch up logic in nfs:u2, or if they did I never saw any evidence of it.

I think the game is kind of retarded, where's the police?
I don't believe they could make a game about illegal underground street racing and not have a single fucking cop car.
The story is crap, the only point of the overworld is to drive from race to race and to fill your head with advertising (burger king and best buy anyone?).
I can think of a ton of things they could of done to make it a better game but EA doesn't care about making good games they just care about putting out mediocre mass-market games onto the shelves to rub shoulders with far more worthy games. Once in a blue moon they might publish a game that is good but they are never developed internally.

It's an arcade racing game, just a bit of fun, whats wrong with that?

Cops would of been good... but not all the time.

If you want to be chased by cops buy GTA San Andreas, or just go out and commit some real crimes.

Got it , beat it, made a carbon fiber version of every car, but everything that is 10 stars looks completely crappy.

This is my favorite car, right how I have it. It may not be 10 stars, but it looks awesome.

Those jagged edges cant be very aerodynamic, you should have it sanded down.

'comic book' clips and cut scenes even gayer....why lose the animation from the 1st one ?

even so..still fun...though..sooo bored with the URL races...

if anyone's still playing it and found they have no $ at the end of the game...go back into ur garage, chose 'world map' and scroll through races u have not done yet. BUT, don't just do them straight up..chose restart and then complete them..you'll actually get paid for the race...up to $10000 for stage 5 races...
