Where The Green Line Splits (God bless you vodka, you saved the world entire)

Swallow your pride and go out on the town,
I'll come for you when you're about to fall down.
Press your lips to the cold glass rim,
Feel the chill against your bare skin.
Talk seems cheap when I'm talking to you,
Listen to the rumours and tell me they're true.
Never mind my positions never mind the evidence,
Never mind your inhibitions never mind the expence.

Fingerprints on priceless documents play their part,
The sound of your voice burnt a hole through my heart.
Sink to my level I can't rise to yours,
Give in to the primitive get down on all fours.
I know I can wind you up if you can take the strain,
You can hurt me if you want you know I won't complain.
Tell me I'm not insane tell me I'm not blind,
Tell me that we're opposites Tell me we can unwind.

Drink enough white spirits, and nothing will hurt,
You could only make me harder if I got you out of that skirt.
A chance encounter leading to a brief embrace,
Never mind tomorrow right now you're off your face.
I know you're no better than a whore and yes I'm scum,
Everything will be much dirtier once we both cum.
In the shadows of our lust, in the deepest of pits,
We'll give in to that where the green line splits.

I remember when I was a kid (long ago in the old nyc days - when kids were allowed in bars and they only had to close 1 hr a day; btwn 6-7am to sweep the place out!) both my Grandmothers happen to have owned bars...

I used to hang out in them, of course, w/either my mum or one of my grans and they'd let me wash the glasses with that twirly brush thing, etc.... play the juke box, pinball, darts - having a grand old time, and I remember hearing a lot of old drunken songs being sung but don't really remember the words.

One (my English gran owned an irish pub) went something like "In heaven there is no beer, that's why we drink it here!"... and my other gran owened a polish pub ... "I don't want her, you can have her - she's too fat for me"....

And the Pommy's always had interesting songs like "... I fucked her in the ass and then I found she was me mum!"....

What a great childhood, no wonder I'm like this! One of my first imitations was of the delivery guy - everytime he knocked and we said "who is it?" the guy would announce real loud in this big bass voice "BEEEEER MAAAAAN!".

...I guess you just hadda be there...

Wow, that song isn't as bad as I'd have expected it to be. Mustn't have drunk enough last night.
