I know the other thread is still open but it looks like we have a pretty good idea who the two finalists will be and I don't think I will have time to do this tomorrow (stupid wisdom teeth). So here are the top entries from the two voting threads.
Entry Number 8
http://members.optusnet.com.au/carpictures/November%20Photo%20Comp/thumb_nov_entry_08.jpg (http://members.optusnet.com.au/carpictures/November%20Photo%20Comp/nov_entry_08.jpg)
Entry Number 11
http://members.optusnet.com.au/carpictures/November%20Photo%20Comp/thumb_nov_entry_11.jpg (http://members.optusnet.com.au/carpictures/November%20Photo%20Comp/nov_entry_11.jpg)
Vote to close in three days time. I'll say post the name of the winner (if they haven't already). Is it cool to post the names of who took which photo or not?
Vote away ;)

I liked your photo knowlesy mate, I don't know where the people were in it like you had said in a different thread but that's cool ;) How long did you leave the shutter open for on that pic? How did you take it?
+rep for being a dude!
Go the little lady beetle!

I voted the lady beetle too. I like the other one too but the lady beetle is just too cute looking, plus I am a sucker for macro type shots.
ps. what is the lady beetle attacking/eating/checking out? Is it a strawberry?

Sif! The landscape with the swans has my vote. I mean look, beaty of a great lake and elegant swans, or some stupid bug that will die in a few days? Make your choice.

I'd love to know where entry 8 was taken.
Stygian, did the finalists give any information on their entries?

I voted 8, i like both photos .. but going by composition.. 8 is definatly better. 11 is kinda generic macro, awesome shot, but its not really a new experience for anyone.. where as ive never seen anywhere like 8, almost fairytale like.
Awesome work

Neither, I can't believe these two are the finalists. There were MUCH better photos than these!!!!!
I will pick the swan one to be involved, but its because I don't like the other one. When have I done that before...? ;)

Entry 11 might be a generic macro shot but it's an awesome photo. Which one did you guys vote for in the other two threads?
Also what makes a good photo? There's a question for you ;)

What makes a good photo is dependent on the audience really. the same with music and art ;) I think most pop music is shite, but the record sales say other wise!
Someone likes it.
I never said it was a bad shot.. i said that i see alot of that , and not so much of the other type, was explaining why i voted the way i did. ;D

i dont really think any of the photos entered were bad. sure, one person will get a metric fuckload of rep but, speaking for myself, that wasn't the real reason i entered this.
doing this makes you get up and go find a good pick and go through the effort it takes to make it something special. moreover, you then can discuss it with other folks doing the same thing.

I agree with kleph. I entered because I liked the fact I could atleast express myself to people who are somewhat neautral and not afraid to voice their opinions wether bad or good.
I read somewhere that if humans are not able to express themselves, then their minds deterorate (sp.?) and then become almost numb to the world. It is a problem in the world, especially when it comes to freedom of speech.

The winner this month was Moses and the runner up was galdab. Two great pictures there mates, I can't wait to see what you do in the next comp. +rep coming your way Moses mate.
The reason I entered (and started this kleph) is because I want to have fun. Going out and taking photo's is so much fun and I wanted to give it some purpose and direction. I don't class myself as an arty person, just someone who likes to enjoy what they do.
Plus I wanted Mod rights to this forum ;) [/kidding]
